About Polperro, Cornwall

A Hidden Gem on the Cornish Coast

Nestled on the stunning south coast of Cornwall, Polperro is one of the most picturesque and charming fishing villages in the UK. With its narrow cobbled lanes, historic cottages, and a peaceful, car-free atmosphere, Polperro feels like stepping back in time.

Once a haven for smugglers, the village is now a beloved destination for visitors seeking coastal beauty, local culture, and a touch of history. The harbour is the heart of Polperro, where colourful boats sway gently in the tide and traditional pubs, cafés, and shops invite you to explore at a leisurely pace.

What to See and Do

  • Polperro Harbour: A stunning spot for photos and relaxation, surrounded by art galleries, seafood restaurants, and local boutiques.
  • Polperro Heritage Museum: Learn about the village’s smuggling history and maritime roots.
  • South West Coast Path: Hike the dramatic coastline and take in unforgettable sea views.
  • Local Events & Festivals: Enjoy seasonal celebrations and live music in this vibrant community.
  • And Visit Bosuns Antiques: Pop in we’d love to see you.

Getting to Polperro
Polperro is easily accessible by road and public transport. The nearest train station is in Looe, just a short taxi or bus ride away. If you’re driving, follow the A387 through Looe—ample parking is available at the top of the village, with a scenic walk or electric shuttle service down to the harbour.

Please note that the village centre is pedestrianised to preserve its charm, making it perfect for exploring on foot.
